The length of an ant’s life depends on many things such as their species and the amount of food they have access to. The caste of an ant also depends on an ant’s timeline. Adult male ants die shortly after they mate with females. Worker ants are females that do not reproduce but maintain the colony. These ants can live for a few weeks to many months. Queen ants can live for several years and will spend that time laying eggs to add to the population of the colony.
