When people hear the word Washington, naturally their minds think of the state’s most well known claims to fame. Everyone thinks of it as one of the wettest states in the nation and while it does get a significant amount of rainfall per year, it does not even come close to the top of the charts. Seattle is considered a rather rainy city but it does not even make the nation’s top 10. So while the cliches may peg this state as a constant monsoon, it is dwarfed in comparison to the precipitation amounts in, for instance, Florida or Hawaii. What Washington is well known for is agriculture, apple production being the most notable, growing more apples than anywhere else in the nation. Producing some of the most fish, shellfish, cherries, carrots and onions make Washington quite an agricultural beast. One insect that doesn’t let good food go to waste is the ant and annoying as it is, Washington has them in abundance too. When the ants come marching in, you need expert ant control to remove them completely.
Massive ant colonies may be near your home
If you see ants milling about your kitchen, getting into your pantry or congregating around the sinks in your home like they’re at the town pub, it results in some intense feelings of frustration and aggravation. It’s hard to imagine where they are coming from or how many there are. The average home infestation has substantially more ants than a typical ant farm. Smaller colonies can be around several hundred ants, growing larger as they are allowed to stay and reproduce. Other super colonies however can contain more than 300 million ants so if your home is located anywhere near such super colonies, keeping them out can be a daily struggle.
