Pointe Pest Control
can eliminate spiders from your home.
Of the 34,000 spider species in the world, only two are considered to be the most dangerous in our area.
The black widow and the hobo spider are two spiders you want to avoid. The black widow is best known for it’s shiny black body and red hourglass on it’s back. The spider earned it’s name, because the female eats her mate. Since her venom is three times more potent than the male’s, he is left defenseless in her attack. Children, elderly and those with compromised immune systems are likely to experience severe symptoms from a bite. Symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, respiratory difficulty and chest pain.
The hobo spider is hard to identify and unfortunately you need a microscope to see any distinct markings. The potency of the hobo’s bite is dependent upon it’s age. When bitten, a small red bump will appear and turn ulcerous. It can then be followed by dry mouth, nausea, weakness, hallucinations and more.
