It is not always easy to identify mouse droppings. Mouse droppings are usually about an eighth of an inch to a quarter of an inch in length. They resemble grains of rice, as they are tapered at the ends. Contrary to what many people think, you cannot determine how old droppings are based on their color, as that largely depends on the food source. The best way to determine the age of droppings is to have them professionally removed and then to reinspect the area after 24 hours. If there are new droppings at that time, you have a current infestation.
