Pointe Pest Control is happy to announce the winners of the 2022 scholarship: Devon Suko, Kylie Durr, Desiree Isaacson, and Paige Sawyer. At Pointe, we are committed to giving back to our communities and are so proud of what these four young people have accomplished.
Criteria Used for the Scholarship
At Pointe, we recognize that young people really are our future, and we see how much good they do in the communities where they live, work, and play. The scholarship application process focuses on youth who have given back to their community and have tried to pay it forward in some manner. Every year we receive many applications from deserving young people. This year, these top four stood out among the rest.
Devon Suko – Idaho
Devon Suko saw a need in his Rathdrum, Idaho community and so, he purchased and donated food to the Rathdrum Food Bank. Devon donated many canned goods, peanut butter, and cereal. He put his own personal spin on his donation by including other food items that he particularly likes, namely Ranch dressing and barbecue sauce! Devon learned of the scholarship on the scholarship wall in his high school and was advised to apply by his College & Career Advisor. We are certainly glad he did!
Kylie Durr – Oregon
When Kylie’s club volleyball coach reached out to her and said they were in need of more coaches for a team of 7-8th graders Kylie was all in. She developed her players’ confidence, skills, and trust in her as their coach, creating a positive environment full of growth. She also brought them together as a team. We thank you, Kylie, for helping build those around you and sharing your talents with others!
Desiree Isaacson – Washington
Desiree Isaacson is passionate about her education, attending Moses Lake High School from 2018 to 2022 and Big Bend Community College from 2020 to 2022. While at school, she began DTA classes and was part of TRIO Upward Bound/GEAR UP. She enjoys painting, drawing, and scrapbooking, but is never too busy to give back to her community. You can find her filling crates for her local food bank, stuffing newsletters and helping with fundraisers for the Columbia Basin Cancer Foundation, and as part of the Lake Shore Clean Up team. Keep up the good work, Desiree!
Paige Sawyer – Montana
Paige Sawyer is a diligent student who will graduate from Missoula Sentinel in 2022, where she studied Geometry, English 2, Pre-calculus, English-3, Calculus A/B, Physics 1, and Statistics. During her time at school, Paige was very actively involved as a Spartan Ambassador member, a member of the student government, made the National Honor Society, and played for the Sentinel High School Varsity Volleyball team. When she is not studying or participating in sports, Paige spends her spare time volunteering at Meadow Hill Middle School and being active at her Polson Community Church. Thanks for all you do, Paige!
