These include parasitic pests like ticks and bed bugs to insects that infest your floors and cabinets such as cockroaches and carpet beetles, just to name a few. Ticks can be hard or soft and range in size from 1/16 to ⅛ inches long. The most common is the deer tick, which is also the tick that carries the most dangerous diseases, such as Lyme Disease and Rocky Mountain Fever. You can visibly see their mouthparts and they can live up to 3 years.

Centipedes have 1 pair of legs per body segment, which ranges from 15 to 177 body segments. They are known to be highly venomous to their prey and though they seldom bite humans, their bite can be rather painful.

Sometimes confused with centipedes whose legs extend outwards from their body, millipedes have 2 legs per body segments and they are below their bodies. They typically curl into a circle when touched or threatened.

An earwig’s defining characteristic is the pair of forcep-like pincers attached to their abdomen. They are rarely more than an inch long and often look scarier than they are. They are attracted to moist areas of your home.

Box elder bugs are black insects with red markings on their back that are often found sunning themselves on the exterior of homes. These nuisance pests can stain interior and exterior of your home.

House crickets are brown, tan or black insects no more than ⅞ inches long. They are known for the chirping sound they make when trying to attract a mate.

This small grey, white or silvery colored insects are teardrop shaped and attracted to damp areas, feeding particularly on clothing and paper. They can be very destructive.

Carpet beetles are a small insect no more than an ⅛ inch in length with a white underbelly. They eat carpet fibers but are also drawn to paper, cotton, linen, book bindings, glue, leather and many more of your household possessions.

The stink bug shaped like a shield and brown in color. It is native to Asia and true to its name and known for the foul odor it emits when threatened.

Resembling the appearance of ticks, this little 1/16 inch mite gets in through tiny cracks near window and doors. They are more noticeable in greater numbers during the spring and early fall.

A female mosquito can lay up to 300 eggs at a time. Male mosquitoes fertilize female mosquitoes, who then store the sperm for later when she lays her eggs. Male mosquitoes do not bite or drink blood.

Springtails are small and can range in color from white, grey to brown. They are a bit smaller than the lettering on a coin. They are most common found in flowerbeds and your grass. Springtails eat mold, pollen, and decaying matter.

A single flea can lay 20 to 50 eggs in a single day. In order to get around, fleas use their powerful legs to jump. As such, fleas are among the best jumpers in the insect world.

Around ⅝ to ¾ of an inch, this brown and tan striped moth starts its life out as a creamy colored larvae with a little brown tipped head. The real culprit are the larvae because they pretty much eat constantly in their larval state.
